The Downtown Steubenville Business Association thanks the Jefferson County Port Authority, the City of Steubenville, and the Jefferson County Commissioners for advancing Census Tract 2 as a priority for Opportunity Zone 2.0 designation. If selected by Governor DeWine, the designation would take effect January 1, 2027 — and DSBA is ready to help downtown hit the ground running.

Downtown Steubenville is ready to welcome new businesses. In response to the Fort Steuben Mall closure, DSBA expresses support for affected businesses and invites any business considering relocation, expansion, or a fresh start to explore opportunities in Steubenville’s historic downtown.

Demolition has begun near the College of St. Joseph the Worker as work moves forward on a new downtown town square vision, a College-funded space intended to serve students while remaining open to the broader Steubenville community.

The latest Census estimate understates what is happening in Steubenville. The Census model has undercounted the city before, and today’s local indicators, from growing schools to Franciscan University and the College of St. Joseph the Worker, show a city that is more stable, more active, and better positioned for growth

A new short film from Zeale’s Forgotten USA series highlights Steubenville’s story with honesty, heart, and hope. The Steubenville Story reflects on the city’s industrial past, the losses it has endured, and the people working every day to build something stronger for the future. It is a meaningful look at resilience, local pride, and the steady work of renewal happening in Steubenville.

The Great Steubenville Eggsibition is back in downtown Steubenville from March 20 through May 3, 2026, with 40+ giant art eggs, local artists, maps, and stops throughout downtown businesses.

Historic districts unlock tax incentives for rehabbing downtown buildings; past success and new historic district to unlock more in the future.
