Nutcracker Village Returns: What’s New for 2025—and Why It Matters

Downtown Steubenville’s beloved Nutcracker Village is back November 25, 2025–January 9, 2026, with 200+ life-size nutcrackers lining North Fourth and surrounding blocks—free, walkable, and open 24/7. Opening week brings unveiling of new figures, the Advent Market on weekends, and a full slate of family activities anchored at 155 N. 4th St.

What’s new in 2025: the Canton Ballet brings a special Nutcracker program to the Steubenville Masonic Theater on Saturday, Nov. 29 (4 p.m. and 6 p.m.)—a fresh on-site performance pairing with the outdoor exhibit. Expect additional tweaks to the walkable map after last season’s well-received expansion deeper into the 200 block of North Fourth.

There is also a new event - the Nutcracker Bar Crawl on Sat, Dec 13, 2025 2:00 PM - Sat, Dec 13, 2025 8:00 PM. Tickets and info available here.

Why it matters: Nutcracker Village reliably draws tens of thousands of visitors each holiday season, boosting foot traffic for shops, restaurants, and vendors and signaling real momentum in downtown’s revival. Past coverage credits the display with helping “bring a downtown to life,” and 200+ locally crafted figures keep the experience uniquely Steubenville year after year.
